Hi, I’m Charlene
Creative Director at Lush ‘n’ Rich Design
Dip. Landscape Design
Cert. Permaculture Design
I find spending time with my family in the garden to be deeply grounding. My passion for gardening began with propagating succulents from my Papa's garden in Queensland and receiving photos of my dad's flowers in his garden in New Zealand. This love for gardening grew further when I started teaching my son, Ollie, about bugs and insects. Our bug-hunting adventures ignited a shared passion for gardening and eventually led us to grow our own food. Witnessing Ollie pick fresh cucumbers from our garden brings me immense joy.
My journey into landscape design began by intertwining my love for gardening with my artistic spirit. This fusion led me to discover my true passion for creating beautiful and sustainable landscapes. I am deeply committed to landscape design and urban permaculture, driven by my appreciation for wholesome, nourishing food and my desire to integrate permaculture principles into both my lifestyle and creative work.
As a passionate nature enthusiast, I find solace and inspiration in the great outdoors. Walking through lush landscapes, breathing in the fresh air, and listening to the melodious songs of birds is where I feel most at home. My deep connection with nature is reflected in my work as a landscape designer. I strive to create harmonious and sustainable designs that embrace the beauty and wisdom of the natural world. Through my work, I aim to cultivate spaces that not only delight the senses but also respect and nurture the environment and all its inhabitants.
In addition to my love for landscape design, I am a tea connoisseur with a passion for blending teas. I cherish the moments of sitting down for a relaxing cuppa while enjoying my garden. I look forward to sharing with you my new designs for my own herbal tea and medicinal garden.
